#BBC impartiality - Hamas militant or terrorist? Merely militant according to the BBC !

We know Hamas has perpetrated the deliberate slaughter of Israeli citizens. They have done unspeakable things to farmers - old people - women and children living on Israeli Kibbutzim. They deliberately targeted and randomly butchered young Israeli's at a desert pop concert. Of this there is no doubt.

Cycling along the sea wall early this morning. A very grey morning in more ways than one. What is happening in the middle east is shocking and will have serious effects on all our lives I expect.

One thing I am sure of is we have to face up to the reality of what has happened in order to deal with it.

Those of you that have read any of my stuff will know I despise what the BBC has become and that I am campaigning for it to be defunded as it continues to fail to meet the standards of a public service broadcaster (and therefore does not warrant the licence fee privilege.)

In this short blog I want to focus on one word - TERRORIST

The BBC - (claiming to be the highest regarded - most trusted - most impartial news organisation in the world) - report these barbaric acts carried out by Hamas were carried out by "militants". They refuse to refer to to Hamas as terrorists in their reporting.

You decide - is the BBC being accurate and impartial in their reporting?

The definition of MILITANT :-

The English word militant is both an adjective and a noun, and it is generally used to mean vigorously activecombative and/or aggressive, especially in support of a cause, as in "militant reformers".

The current meaning of militant does not usually refer to a registered soldier: it can be anyone who subscribes to the idea of using vigorous, sometimes extreme, activity to achieve an objective, usually political. A "militant [political] activist" would be expected to be more confrontational and aggressive than an activist not described as militant.

The definition of TERRORISM

Terrorism, in its broadest sense, is the use of intentional violence and fear to achieve political or ideological aims. The term is used in this regard primarily to refer to intentional violence during peacetime or in the context of war against non-combatants (mostly civilians and neutral military personnel).

Hamas have clearly targeted civilians and used shocking levels of violence and depravity against ordinary civilians in order to try and achieve their political and ideological aims. This is not mere militancy - it is terrorism at the highest level.

The BBC should be saying so. Impartiality is not a reason for not doing so. The BBC have their own political agenda. This is their paramount consideration. They are not being impartial - they are being the reverse. They are in the editorial grip of a leftie woke liberal elite.
